"Toro Nagasi" is a cultural event sending back the spirits of ancestors putting on lanterns floating on the water.

This fair has become the biggest pottery market in Kyoto, with over 500 open stalls lining up alng the Gojo Street and selling wares.

Large bonfires are lit on the five mountains surrounding Kyoto to send the spritis of ancestors back. One of a well-known summer events in Kyoto.
